How to Add a Boarding Pass to Apple Wallet
Step-by-step instructions for adding any boarding pass to Apple Wallet, plus tips for sharing, refreshing, and using it on Apple Watch.
Why use Apple Wallet
- One swipe at the gate.
- Lock Screen reminders the morning of the flight.
- Auto-update when gates or times change.
- Apple Watch mirroring — leave the phone in your bag.
Method 1: From the airline app
Most major US, EU, and Asian carriers add a "Add to Apple Wallet" button to the boarding pass screen. Tap once. Done.
Method 2: From email
If the airline emails you a PDF or PKPASS file, open it on your iPhone and tap Add.
Method 3: From the airline website
After online check-in, look for the same Apple Wallet button on the boarding pass page in Safari.
Sharing with a travel partner
iOS now supports boarding pass sharing in iMessage. Send the pass to a partner; they can add it to their own Wallet.
Apple Watch usage
If your boarding pass is in Wallet, double-tap the side button at security or the gate. The pass appears on your wrist.
After it's in Wallet
