Verdict

Flighty is excellent, and we'll say it plainly: if money is no object and you've already paid for it, keep using it. Most iPhone users do not need to spend $60–$300 to track flights. FlightyFlow gives you the same Live Activities, the same gate alerts, the same predictive delay risk, the same beautiful map — for free, without an account, without ads, and without selling your data. We built FlightyFlow because flight tracking is a basic travel utility that shouldn't sit behind a paywall.

Frequently asked

Is FlightyFlow really free?+

Yes. The full core experience — live aircraft tracking, gate alerts, delay predictions, Live Activities, Lock Screen widgets, and Apple Watch — is free. Premium is optional and only unlocks heavier-use features like unlimited saved flights, priority alerts, and ad-free use of new map layers we ship.

What's the catch compared to Flighty?+

Flighty is older and has spent more time on iPad and Apple Watch polish. We don't have a multi-year travel-history feature like Passport yet (it's on the roadmap). For the 95% of travelers who use a flight tracker to know when their plane will land, the experiences are equivalent.

Are the delay predictions as good?+

Both apps blend ADS-B, weather, ATC programs, and inbound aircraft data. In our testing the prediction accuracy is comparable — typically surfacing real delays 1–6 hours before airline systems update.

Do you sell my data like other free apps?+

No. We have no ad SDKs, no third-party analytics that resell, and no email-list harvesting. The optional account exists only so you can sync favorites across devices.

Can I import my Flighty trips?+

Not yet. You can re-add favorite routes manually in seconds. Email/calendar trip parsing is on the roadmap.

Why would Flighty users switch?+

Most don't have to. We hear from people who never bought Flighty Pro and had been getting an upsell wall in the free tier — they switch because the FlightyFlow free tier actually does the job. We also hear from former Pro users who don't fly enough to justify the renewal.
