Why iOS 19 matters

iOS 19 is the most consequential release for flight tracking apps since the introduction of Live Activities in 2022. It expands what apps can do on the Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island, in Stand By mode, and through Apple Intelligence summaries — the surfaces where flight tracking actually happens day-to-day.

What's new

  • Apple Intelligence Notification Summaries — multiple aviation pings collapse into "Your 4pm to JFK is delayed by 35 min, gate moved to B12" instead of three buzzes.
  • Live Activity Carousel — multiple concurrent Live Activities (a flight, a ride, a delivery) now coexist gracefully.
  • Stand By full-bleed — the entire screen can be a flight progress display.
  • Action Button + Shortcuts integration — single-press to "Pin next flight from Wallet" or "Share live link with family."
  • Wallet Boarding Pass deep linking — opens directly into the right tracker for that flight.

What FlightyFlow ships on day one

  • Apple Intelligence-formatted notifications.
  • Stand By full-bleed flight view.
  • Action Button shortcut: "Pin my next flight."
  • New Lock Screen widget tuned for the iOS 19 design language.
