When you only have route and date

Maybe a friend forgot to send you their flight number, or you're trying to figure out which flight an old itinerary refers to. Most trackers let you search by route and date.

Step 1: Open the tracker

In FlightyFlow, tap Search → Route and enter origin and destination IATA codes.

Step 2: Filter by date

Pick the travel date. The app returns every flight on that route that day, with airline, scheduled times, and aircraft type.

Step 3: Identify the right one

Common clues:

  • Departure window the friend mentioned ("morning," "evening").
  • Airline they usually fly.
  • Aircraft type (some travelers are particular about narrow vs widebody).

Step 4: Pin it

Tap the star to add to your tracked list. From here, you'll get all the usual delay and arrival alerts.

When the route is unusual

For codeshare flights or rare routes (e.g. one-stop seasonal services), search by airline + flight number if your friend remembers it instead. Codeshare flights can appear under multiple flight numbers — look for the operating carrier.
